This is particularly important for a patient who has dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing a particular form of medicine, is allergic to certain excipients, or requires a different strength, formula, or dosage form, to that of a readily available licensed medicine.<\/p>\n

There are also various reasons why a licensed medication may not be appropriate; the licensed product may be temporarily unavailable or has been discontinued, or a licensed formulation may not be suitable for a particular patient\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n
