Founded in 1998 in Blackpool, Scream Theatre Schools has become one of the North West’s leading performing arts institutions, dedicated to nurturing talent across dance, drama, and singing. The school welcomes both children and adults, offering a creative and supportive environment that encourages artistic expression and personal growth. Over the years, Scream has built a reputation not just for excellence in training but also for developing confidence, teamwork, and professionalism among its students.

The school is an accredited Arts Award Centre, providing recognised qualifications that celebrate creative achievement. Its comprehensive curriculum combines acting, dance, and singing, with classes designed to build both technical skill and stage presence. Scream’s purpose-built facilities include professional studios equipped for dance and drama training, mirroring the standards of industry rehearsal spaces.

Scream Theatre Schools is also home to the Scream Talent Agency, a professional management division that connects aspiring performers with opportunities in television, film, radio, and theatre. This dual structure – combining education and industry representation – has helped launch the careers of numerous young performers who have gone on to appear in major productions, including West End musicals, popular TV dramas, and international films.

The school’s founder, Tracey Bell, established the Scream Group to address the lack of structured performing arts training and talent development opportunities in the North of England. With a background spanning media, production, and talent management, she launched both Scream Theatre Schools and Scream Talent Agency in 1998, followed by Red Door Management in 2006 – a boutique agency representing established international artists.

Under Bell’s leadership, Scream Group has expanded to include offices in Covent Garden, London, and MediaCityUK in Salford, positioning it at the heart of the UK’s creative industries. The group’s artists have gone on to work with major global studios and broadcasters including Disney, Nickelodeon, Paramount, Netflix, HBO, Amazon, BBC, ITV, Sky, and AMC. Among its alumni are household names such as Jenna Coleman, Lucy Fallon, Maddison Jaizani, Kelsey-Beth Crossley, Malique Thompson-Dwyer, and Joseph-Warren Plant – many of whom have become award-winning performers.

Scream Theatre Schools remains deeply rooted in the local community, regularly hosting showcases and its annual Scream Oscars, a celebration of student achievement that mirrors the glamour of Hollywood’s biggest night. The event reflects the school’s ethos – blending professional ambition with joy, creativity, and community spirit.
