Malique Thompson-Dwyer (born 2 February 1998) is an English actor best known for his role as Prince McQueen in the long-running Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks. First appearing on the show in 2016, Thompson-Dwyer quickly became a fan favourite for his portrayal of the cheeky yet big-hearted son of Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey) and twin brother of Hunter McQueen (Theo Graham). His performance earned him and co-star Graham the award for Best Partnership at the 2018 British Soap Awards. Born in Hollinwood, Greater Manchester, Thompson-Dwyer began his acting career at a young age, training in performing arts before making his on-screen debut in the CBBC drama The Dumping Ground, where he played Tommo. His early talent led him to be signed by Red Door Management, a talent agency representing many of the UK’s rising young performers.
In November 2016, he made his first appearance in Hollyoaks, where his energetic and emotional performances helped shape the McQueen family’s modern storylines. After three years on the show, he temporarily departed in 2019 but returned in 2021, reprising his role as Prince McQueen to continue his character’s journey within one of British television’s most popular soap families. Outside of Hollyoaks, Thompson-Dwyer expanded his career into film and reality television. In 2017, he appeared in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, directed by Guy Ritchie, playing the younger version of the character Wet Stick. The following year, he entered the Australian jungle as a contestant on the eighteenth series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! where, at age 20, he became the youngest ever participant in the show’s history. He was the second celebrity to be eliminated but left a lasting impression for his good humour and resilience.
Thompson-Dwyer continued his appearances on television, taking part in Celebs Go Dating (2020), Celeb Ex in the City (2020), and the MTV reality series Celebs on the Farm (2021). Known for his charm and easygoing personality, he has built a loyal fanbase across both drama and reality genres. Away from the spotlight, Thompson-Dwyer is a devoted father to two daughters, born in 2017 and 2022. He continues to balance his acting and television career with his role as a parent, maintaining a strong presence in both the entertainment industry and his personal life.
