At The Grange is a vibrant community hub located in Blackpool that serves as a multi-functional space offering services, activities, and resources to the local community. It provides a wide range of facilities, including a library, café, and spaces for community events and workshops. It is designed to support community engagement, lifelong learning, and social inclusion. The Blackpool City Learning Centre (CLC), originally built in 2004, played a significant role in fostering innovation in education within the Blackpool area. Initially, the CLC was a dedicated facility for enhancing learning through cutting-edge technology, supporting schools and offering advanced resources for students and educators alike.
As the needs of the community evolved, the purpose of the Blackpool CLC was integrated into broader community initiatives, such as At The Grange. The legacy of the CLC’s focus on education and technology continues in the programs and workshops offered at At The Grange, particularly in providing digital learning opportunities and skills development for people of all ages. At The Grange now embodies the vision of the CLC by acting as a hub for learning, creativity, and community collaboration, ensuring that the spirit of the CLC’s mission remains an integral part of Blackpool’s community development.
Today it’s a great place to meet new people, learn new skills and improve your health and wellbeing. The centre has something for everyone. It has shops, a library, a cafe, a community farm and a theatre. It also has a gallery and meeting rooms that are available for hire. On weekdays and weekends, we host events and classes for people of all ages and abilities.
The architects behind the project were Mellor Architects.
