The First Blackpool BIBA Awards

The first Blackpool BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) event took place in 2008 at the Tower and brought glitz to the local business community. Former Spandau Ballet front man, Tony Hadley, provided the entertainment to the 600 attendees. The awards took the Lancashire business community by storm and so the BIBAs quickly became the awards business wanted to win.

The event returns to the resort in 2024 and is expecting over 1,000 guests to attend the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Twenty trophies will be up for grabs – plus Lancastrian of the Year – and the BIBAs team have been getting ready for another glitzy affair, graced by the bright lights of the Illuminations, which will be sparkling outside the venue. The BIBAs recognise business excellence but they also play a critical role in driving economic growth throughout the region. The awards event itself generates plenty of economic activity, with attendees staying in local hotels, dining in local restaurants, and experiencing the best of what Blackpool has to offer.

‘The BIBAs are more than just an awards ceremony; they are a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and achievements of Lancashire’s business community. We can’t wait to honour our finalists and winners in such a magnificent setting,’ said Babs Murphy, chief executive of the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the BIBAs’ organising body.
