Christine McGuinness, born Christine Martin on 20 March 1988 in Blackpool, is an English model, television personality, and former beauty queen. She gained recognition as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, appearing between 2018 and 2020, and has since featured on various television programmes, including The Real Full Monty and The Games. In 2021, she took part in a BBC documentary alongside her then-husband, Paddy McGuinness, to raise awareness about autism.
Her early life was marked by challenges, including sexual abuse by a family member and her father’s struggle with heroin addiction. She pursued a career in modelling, entering beauty pageants and winning the title of Miss Liverpool in 2007. In 2012, she appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and All Star Mr & Mrs with Paddy McGuinness. Following her reality TV success, she made guest appearances on several talk and entertainment shows, including Loose Women, Steph’s Packed Lunch, Hey Tracey!, This Morning, and Good Morning Britain. In November 2021, she released her autobiography A Beautiful Nightmare: My Story, sharing insights into her life, struggles, and career.
In December 2021, she participated in Strictly The Real Full Monty, and the following year, she competed in the sports competition series The Games. Expanding into new media, she launched a podcast with Paddy McGuinness in 2022, Table Talk with Paddy and Christine McGuinness.
Christine married actor, comedian, and presenter Paddy McGuinness in June 2011, and they have three children together. She was diagnosed as autistic, as were all three of her children. The couple documented their experiences in the BBC documentary Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism. In July 2022, Christine and Paddy announced their separation.
