Karen Hunter started Tiptoes back in 1996 and sold it to Stephanie Harker in 2007, though Stephanie had worked for Karen in those early days. Based in Blackpool, the dance academy offers friendly children’s dance classes in ballet, modern, acro and tap dancing to all levels of ability from the age of two and a half upwards. They encourage and support their students in order to establish a strong foundation to help them grow in confidence and improve their technique. From experienced dancers to first timers, the school makes sure all of their students have a great time! As the Principal, Stephanie Walker says she hopes to continue to help the school grow and offer the high standards of dance education parents and students have come to expect. The actress Lauren Bunney, best known for playing Annie Wainwright in the BBC school drama Grange Hill from 2003-2005, was trained at the school.

Their team at Tiptoes Dance Academy in Blackpool are Ofqual registered, RAD and ISTD qualified. The Royal Academy of Dance is an historic dance education organisation, founded in 1920, to set standards for dance teaching in the UK. Tiptoes is also fully ISTD accredited. The ISTD or the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, is a leading dance examination board with a wide range of dance genres covered.
