Mike Peters MBE Launches Universal Products (Lytham) Manufacturing

awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of his services to industry in the North West.

The firm specialised in the pharmaceutical and personal care markets, a privately owned company that provided bespoke solutions for their clients as they could appreciate that one size does not fit all. They offered flexible, expedient solutions in the development, manufacture, filling and packing of a wide range of liquids, creams, ointments and gels. Their philosophy was to build long-term relationships with their customers and suppliers and to deliver effective bespoke solutions to meet a broad range of manufacturing requirements. They had a broad and valued customer portfolio, ranging from large multi-nationals to smaller firms with niche market products.

Their success can partially be attributed to offering total client confidentiality and providing flexible and expedient solutions for a speedy route to market, for a significant range of products including liquids, creams, ointments and gels. Acting solely as a contract manufacturer (with no brands of their own) they only developed products for external customers, ensuring their interests were not compromised. Most importantly, they recognised that their customers came to them with quality brands, unique products and original concepts that required bespoke solutions to help them capitalise on those products. They enjoyed consistent growth for decades due to their focus on product quality, service, superior customer relationships and fair pricing. This focus built a reputation that established them as one of the UK’s leading contract manufacturers in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries.
