St Annes College, founded in 1886, is an independent co-educational day school in Lytham St Annes, providing education for students aged between two and eighteen. The school is divided into three departments: a Nursery for children aged two to four, an Infant and Junior School for pupils aged four to eleven, and a Grammar School for students aged eleven to eighteen. Since 1902 the College has occupied purpose-built premises designed to create a calm and structured learning environment.

One of the defining features of St Annes College is its commitment to individual attention. Class sizes rarely exceed sixteen pupils, allowing teachers to develop close academic and pastoral relationships with students. This small-scale approach fosters a supportive community atmosphere in which staff and pupils work together towards shared educational goals. The College is also a member of the National Association for Gifted Children, reflecting its dedication to nurturing academic excellence and creativity.

Over its long history the College has established a reputation for high standards and personal development, quietly maintaining its standing within Lancashire’s independent education sector. Among its notable former pupils is actress Amanda Barrie, best known for her appearances in Carry On Cleo and Coronation Street, who attended the school before beginning her celebrated stage and screen career.
