Housed within the historic Robert\u2019s Oyster Rooms, the business has stood for nearly 150 years as one of the town\u2019s most enduring seaside institutions. Originally built as Blackpool\u2019s premier oyster bar, the large three-storey building was a landmark of refinement and indulgence at a time when the town was emerging as a fashionable holiday destination.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"471\" data-end=\"910\">In its early days, visitors could buy seven oysters for a shilling \u2014 around five pence in today\u2019s money \u2014 an affordable luxury for Victorian tourists eager to sample the sea\u2019s bounty. Over the decades, Robert\u2019s evolved with the town, becoming a familiar stop for generations of holidaymakers. Alongside its seafood counter, the shop also sold beach essentials and souvenirs, a tradition that reflected the spirit of the Promenade itself.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1363\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Today, Robert\u2019s Oyster Bar remains in local hands under the ownership of Blackpool resident Neil Parkinson. The bar continues to serve an array of freshly prepared shellfish, including crab, lobster, prawns, cockles, mussels, and, of course, oysters \u2014 the delicacy that gave it its name.
