While specific details about its founding are limited, the club has established itself as a friendly, sociable, and inclusive environment for both cricket and squash enthusiasts.\u200b The club came into being about 1916 and the members played their early cricket on a ground at Harrowside. In 1926, on gaining membership to the Palace Shield Division II, the Club moved to new quarters in Stanley Road.<\/p>\n<p>The club fields multiple cricket teams, including the 1st XI, 2nd XI, and Sunday 1st XI, competing in various leagues. A notable highlight in the club&#8217;s cricket history is the First Team&#8217;s victory in the Palace Shield back in 1984, marking a significant achievement in local cricket circles. \u200b<\/p>\n<p>In addition to cricket, the club boasts excellent squash facilities, catering to players of all skill levels. The clubhouse, managed by Mick Hall, serves as a hub for members and guests, equipped with changing rooms, showers, and a social area. The club emphasizes community involvement, hosting charity cricket events and the SSCC Single Wicket Competition, fostering a strong connection with the local community. New players are always welcome, regardless of experience level.
