[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Kila Redfearn was officially appointed by the Squire of Lytham, Lord of the Manor on Sunday, 12 March 2023 at Lytham Hall. She has made history by becoming Lytham\u2019s first female town crier.\u00a0As a town crier, she will often need to get loud, but the post requires other more important qualities, such as having a big personality, a caring heart, an engaging sense of fun, and a love of fancy dress.\u00a0As a 54-year-old mother of four children and two grandchildren, she most certainly fits the bill. She is also the head of charity for Blue Skies, the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS charity.\u00a0Prior to her role with the charity, she worked for 31 years in events and finance at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.<\/p>\n

Kila bought her grandchildren town crier hats and bells so they could get in some practice for when they are older.\u00a0One of her first official duties was to make the announcement of the King\u2019s Coronation in May.\u00a0The role of any Lytham Town Crier is voluntary and any money raised from undertaking private proclamations within the position will go back into Lytham Hall Charity, which is the seat of the original Squire of Lytham.\u00a0Colin Ballard, who was Lytham and St Annes town crier for seven years before he moved abroad, offered his congratulations.<\/p>\n

Kila also serves as Head of Charity for Blue Skies Hospitals Fund (commonly called \u201cBlue Skies<\/a>\u201d), the charity arm of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this role she is responsible for leading the charity\u2019s fundraising activities, promoting its mission of supporting patient care at Blackpool hospitals, and overseeing the charity\u2019s presence and operations.<\/p>\n
