On leaving the Express she became co-director of HB Publishing and PR Associates, Lytham, along with her father, Harry Brown, former Public Relations Officer of The Football League, St Annes, and founder of the Football League Review.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014 Marilyn was shortlisted for the Festival of Romance New Talent Award with her first novel Baggy Pants and Bootees, set in World War Two. A member of The Society of Authors, she is currently finalising her third novel, working title The Making of Maggie, the sequel to her second novel, Occupying Love.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Baggy Pants and Bootees<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When war baby Sophie joins the macho world of 1960s journalism she\u2019s determined to prove that she\u2019s \u2018one of the boys.\u2019 But a shocking phone call from her estranged mother sets Sophie on a quest to discover the secret of her birth.<\/p>\n<p>Was her father the all-American soldier she dreamt of when she was a child, or someone far more sinister?
