It was one of three schools set up in Baines&#8217; will, the others being at Poulton-Le-Fylde and Thornton, teaching around 100 pupils without charging fees. Baines will also provided payments to the poor of the area and apprenticeships. Baines can claim that three of its students appear on Blackpool Timeline \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/joseph-warren-plant-joins-emmerdale\/\"><strong>Joe-Warren Plant<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/susan-varleys-badgersparting-gifts-gets-published\/\"><strong>Susan Varley<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/sports-historian-gerry-wolstenholme-writes-first-book\/\"><strong>Gerry Wolstenholme<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As a Church of England primary school, the school has very close links with their local church, St. Paul\u2019s, Marton. Pupils will have the opportunity throughout their lives at Baines\u2019 to join in with celebrations and services at church. At Baines they are very proud of the achievements of their children, whether they be academic, sporting or creative. They offer quality-first teaching for all pupils in their school and nursery, and they pride themselves on supporting every pupil, regardless of ability, to achieve their true potential. Each child is recognised as unique with their own special talents, so as well as providing exciting learning opportunities within their curriculum, the school also offers pupils a wonderful variety of extra-curricular activities \u2013 including football, netball, dance, choir and drama. The school has high expectations of behaviour and encourages all children to respect the Gospel values that, as a school, it respects and promotes.
