Bass brought it into the modern age by developing its food offering from just packets of potato crisps. But its main draw during Bass Taverns&#8217;s reign had to be that it was a very popular music venue, a place for local bands to get good exposure. It attracted the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/robbie-williams-promo-video-at-belle-vue-pub\/\"><strong>Robbie Williams<\/strong><\/a> to make a promo video there, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/david-hoyles-belle-vue-start\/\"><strong>David Hoyle<\/strong><\/a>, known as a performance artist for his avant-garde cabaret, satirical comedy, and thought-provoking work on LGBTQ+ issues.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9823\" style=\"width: 1010px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9823\" class=\"wp-image-9823 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.wearedeeperblue.co.uk\/history-clone\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Creatively-Bankrupt-2.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1288\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9823\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The phone number on the promotional card shown above is a giveaway for how long ago these acts appeared at The Belle Vue. Its art deco facade was retained by Sainsburys when they had their new store built in its place. However, since then the unit has been occupied by the COOP and more recently by Morrisons.
